Don’t forget to enjoy your pregnancy

Enjoy pregnancy. For some people it sounds impossible: Morning sickness, uncomfortable heartburn, sore breasts, sore legs, sore feet, stretching skin... And then there's planning for the baby's arrival: baby registries, evaluating finances, potentially remodeling a room. Doesn't sound very enjoyable, does it?

Pregnancy should be a joyous time

Bear with me on this. Yes, you may be sick, uncomfortable, bloated, exhausted, and miserable. And it may seem like you'll never have everything prepared for the baby.

But pregnancy can be a really amazing time, and it's important to step back and appreciate the process. First of all, what your body is able to do in 40 weeks of pregnancy is pretty amazing. After all, you're creating a whole new person.

Second of all, a pregnancy is the beginning of a new phase in your life. If it's your first child, you're just beginning your journey as a parent. And with each subsequent pregnancy, you're bringing another new member into your family. All pretty good reasons to celebrate.

Appreciate the present

In the midst of all the anticipation, it's a good idea to stop and take a deep breath. You may not adore your new curves, but you should get to know them well - you will likely be wistful when they're gone. And you may have a million things to do before baby comes, but go ahead and take a nap in the middle of the afternoon, or stay up late watching old sitcoms and sleep in the next morning trust me when I say that you won't be able to do these things once the baby arrives.

Most importantly, remember to take time for yourself and appreciate what you're going through. Let people dote on you, and allow yourself to enjoy every moment you can. Pregnancy is a part of your journey through motherhood, and you should cherish every moment.
